Some fun random tidbits...
Since I've been neglecting my little blog, I thought I'd make it up to my millions of readers by posting something tonite. Maybe some random bits of stuff going through my brain? Ok!
1. Today, I ate a piece of apple pie, 13 sugar cookies, and a half a brick of Monterey Jack cheese.
2. I don't feel bad about #1.
3. I haven't sewn anything in almost a week.
4. I do feel a little bad about #3.
5. My beloved older sister cleaned, and I mean cleaned, my entire kitchen today. Then swept every floor and folded all my laundry, and finished with picking up all the toys. I feel loved. Can't stop looking at my sparkly kitchen. Thanks, B.
6. Bella is a spitfire. A sassy little ball of sass, and I am loving it. Her fire is SO going to be used by God. In a matter of a minute, she goes from laughing, to being shy, to frowning, to laughing again. Drama. Makes me smile every time, just thinking about how God's gonna use that sweet little girl with a 'tude.
7. My closest friends live in another state, and all of them have five kids. Rock on, you amazing mama's!
8. I love my oldest friends, and I love my newest ones. I'm convinced that mom's NEED each other, even when we don't feel like it. I love the ladies that I'm growing closer with in my new life here in this town. And feelin' the love back. God's good.
9. Been pondering 'the goodness of the Lord'. He is always faithful to meet us when we ask. Sometimes in really difficult ways, but He's not interested in keeping us happy. Just makin us holy.
10. Facebook is ridiculous sometimes. Did you know that I saw somebody say in a status update that what happened in Japan was God's judgment?! I wanted to fly through cyberspace and cybersmack them. Compassion, anyone?! Good Lord, have mercy!
11. Daylight savings time is silly. As I'm writing this, I realized that it's actually an hour past my bedtime. Shoot.
Missin' this pretty lady today!
Good night, all. :)

A whole week? Are you kidding me?!
I'm sorry, AGAIN. Forgive me? I have some good excuses, including dinner with good friends, getting sick, and then family visiting, in that order. It was a busy week! Here are 5 things I've loved about this past week:
1. My dad's sense of humor. He is the king of corny jokes (and knows it!) but has a heart bigger than anyone I know, and the most tender one at that. He's truly a man who would do anything in his power to help someone in need. I really love my daddy.
2. My mom's adoration for my kids. She's a full-blown 'Grammy' now and loves every minute of it.
3. Steak. Joel grilled some the other night and let me tell you. One word. DE-LISH.
4. Thrift store shopping. My mom and I went with the 3 littles, and we got some great stuff! Mostly toys for the kids, but hey, happy kids = happy mama.
5. Fellowship with good friends. Tim and Rach, we treasure you guys. What a blessing you are to have as friends. So glad to be going through life with you!
*On a more serious note, I just heard about the horrific earthquake and tsunami in Japan, and I am hardly able to believe it. Everyone right now, say a prayer for those people. I can't even imagine the devastation. Lost family members, jobs, homes, loved ones...Lord, help!*
And because we all know I can't blog without posting at least one picture, here ya go.
Just a little picture of the cutest baby on earth.

five things i love friday - chairs
I've had chairs on my mind lately. Mostly because I am seeing the need to make new slipcovers for a few in my living room, and because all of the kitchen chairs need a coat of some really fun paint. While searching the internets for pictures of chairs, these are some I fell in love with!
(forgive me for not knowing where they came from. I just saved them to my Pictures folder without thinking to save the link too! Oops.)
I'm feelin like the kitchen chairs will end up some shade of aqua or turquoise. The living room chairs will most likely be some shade of white, although I'm really digging fun prints lately too. Who knows?

My Creative Space
*head on over to kootoyoo for more incredibly abs gorg creative spaces*
Baby booties, that is! What were YOU thinking?!
See?
And I've got at least 4 more pairs cut out and ready to assemble. I love love love this pattern. Aimee from this cute blog gave me permission to sell these beauties in my shop. Ever since then, I've gone a litte nutso cutting and sewing them. For good reason too - can you even STAND how cute they are? I've got to get some patience and not take pictures on cloudy days so that I get some better natural light. These pics are passable, right?
In other creative spaces, I'm taking a break from baking. For a few weeks, I was baking something yummy almost every day. However, I found that I was eating most of it too. Not a good combination. For my own protection, I'm taking a break. Sorry Joel. Maybe some day I'll have enough self-control to not eat every piece of brownie, scone and muffin. Pray for me. Ha!
Do you know what's really awkward? I just realized the other day that I have to tell people Haven's name at least twice. Maybe they think I'm saying Haman? Not cool. Sometimes I even have to spell it. I get some really awkward responses.
"Oh! Well, isn't that interesting?"
"I've never heard that one before."
"What's his name? Really? Why?"
Ok, I never got that last one, but it seems like that's what people are thinking. It's ok, I don't mind. Gives me something to laugh and blog about.
HAVEN. A safe place. A peaceful refuge. That's what he is to me alot of the time. He's such a happy, smiley baby, who already loves life and you can tell. On a particularly whiney day (from me, the kids, or both), his smile and sunny disposition is like a breath of fresh air. I love my little Haven. Yes, that's H-A-V-E-N.

Just a little shop stuff...
Well, since I can't post any of my latest sewing projects yet, I thought I'd show you a couple new things up in the shop! Just come cute vintage goodies...:)
How cute are those tea towels??! So tempted to keep them.
Another item I was tempted to keep. These would make such cute pillow case dresses or fabric for any other little fabric! I especially love that blue and white floral beauty on top there. So cute!
I'm still not sure what this is supposed to be for, but it was WAY too adorable to pass up when I saw it. It's handstitched, and every piece is this gorgeous gingham. I saw it and immediately thought "nursery curtain!". Anyway, I hope someone can use this cute little thing.
What are you all up to this week? Give me some fun ideas for things to do with my kids indoors! It's still too cold to play outside but oh how we long for the sunshine!
